What kind of recommendations for places do you all have? It’s just that lately, whenever I go out to the city to eat with friends or something, we inevitably spend almost an hour wandering around, undecided on where to eat.
So here’s a call out for any places you guys find are good for eating. Ideally relatively close to public transport and cheap
. I’m pretty sure you’d've been out to more places than I have, so mmm.
Plus, this’ll help with the (likely midyear break?) number 17 meetup (AGM, if you will ^.^)

The island of Manhattan is big. It takes at least a full hour on the 1 train to get from one end to the other. And that doesn’t even take into consideration the amount of walking one has to do. Obviously I’ve never done cadets or Duke of Edinburgh or anything like that, but carrying around a bunch of camera equipment plus a full-sized laptop is a challenge, when you’re on the go for 14-15 hours a day. Probably only 10 kilometres per day, though, thanks to mass transit.
I could go on about mass transit forever, and in fact I will in a subsequent post, but the point I’m getting at is that I’m using up a ridiculous amount of energy every day. Standard 2500 calorie diet (I don’t know how that translates into kilojoules, I’m used to calories for some reason), gone. I’m usually not terribly concerned about gaining weight, but doing some actual calculations on what I’m eating is beginning to frighten me. I’m beginning to understand why this country has gained the reputation it has for obesity. → read more

By now, I’m sure you’re completely familar with my blatant sweet tooth. However, this on OCAU came up, which is even more than I could probably handle:

Frickin' huge.
Yes, that’s a gummi bear. Apparently it weighs 5 pounds, is equivalent to around 1400 regular gummi bears, and contains 12600 US calories (not sure how that converts).
Click the link for more info: the questions some people have asked are hilarious, and the answers the store owners provide even more so…

So, it’s Sunday night and dinner is at least half an hour away. But I’m starving. What should I eat?
1) Cadbury Chocolate (already had half a block)
2) Choc Chip muffins
3) Chips/etc lying around
4) Instant Noodles
5) Starve and man it up till dinner
6) Weeds in the backyard
7) Non-foods
Or some combination of these?
Help! I’m so hungry!
Although by the time someone replies I might be full.

FANTASTIC
I can die happy now (not really). In the past week, I had McDonalds for breakfast not once, but twice. Yes indeed, I did and it was an experience I sure do remember. The last time I had it for Breakfast was last year at Sydney Airport, but before that, it was probably several years ago.
