I feel sorry for those guys, poor North Koreans. I only watched the second half… but LOL six goals, 3 in 7 minutes and 3 in 8 minutes. The Portuguese are pretty much into the next round, unless Cote d’Ivore can rack in 9 goal difference or something. gee gee gee gee baby baby baby

This is the 6th goal:

ps Federer’s down two sets as of now in the Wimbledon, first round too…

A possible solution

So, my dear readers (that sounds quite presumptuous that you’re here to read my posts, but whatever :P ), I hope you’re all doing well and utilising your student vacations well. However, inevitably, as exams near, I always procrastinate more by exploring further options. Last teaching period I delved into formspring, and then removed it. However, I’ll admit that it’s now back up, so feel free to ask more questions:

I’ve also started up a new blog. As I’ve said before, I think perhaps I should keep the more personal or ‘bloggy life’ aspects out of number 17 (for somewhat good reasons – thanks to Murphy and Hans for showing me why it’s a good idea). So here’s to my tumblr! I expect to get a lot fewer visitors than number 17, but I think I won’t get random people that I don’t know at all. No offense, but there are some people who visit number 17 that I’ve never met or even heard of (i.e. sydney uni kids who know hans, ben, jason, etc). But I’m not sure how much I’ll persist with my new blog, which’ll cover quite a bit, maybe. I also doubt I’ll draw any readers away from number 17, and I’ll keep on posting things on number 17 that I deem are appropriate for it. We’ll see how things go :)

…new camera?

So, my current Panasonic Lumic DMC-TZ6 is pretty much running on its last legs. I dropped it at the beach late last year while trying to solidify melted chocolate in the sea (hey, it worked). I’m actually quite surprised it didn’t just die on me just then. But mrm, after I dropped it, I got home, cleaned the sand out of the lens as best I could, and threw the camera into a tub of rice (rice is a dessicant, and I hadn’t sufficient reserves of silica gel).

It worked perfectly for a few months, then the lens cover jammed. That in itself wasn’t a deal breaker – it was just mildly irritating having to open the cover whenever I wanted to take a picture, and explaining to other people why my camera would give them black pictures. I actually shopped around to see how much a repair would take, and it was several hundred, which isn’t really worth it…

But recently (yesterday) my LCD screen started flickering like the was no tomorrow. I think it’s a backlight problem, and it’s pretty drastic. It’s almost impossible to align images and use the zoom well without the backlight, since it’s almost impossible to see. I’m actually quite devastated, though admittedly what I did was pretty drastic… not many things would survive a dunk into salty, sandy water well at all! So all in all, I’m impressed with Panasonic. It’s a really good camera, and I think I’ve made good use of it over the past not-quite-a-year-yet. I’ve taken a lot of good photos with it (shutter count, or equivalent, is 5,114 as of this post) and a lot of memories are nicely done :) .

But I think it shall be high time soon for a replacement. I’m unsure of what to get right now, but, hey, number-17 is relatively techy, so I’ll see what you all think :) Poll and some options after the break.

On eating out in the city

What kind of recommendations for places do you all have?  It’s just that lately, whenever I go out to the city to eat with friends or something, we inevitably spend almost an hour wandering around, undecided on where to eat.

So here’s a call out for any places you guys find are good for eating. Ideally relatively close to public transport and cheap :) . I’m pretty sure you’d've been out to more places than I have, so mmm.

Plus, this’ll help with the (likely midyear break?) number 17 meetup (AGM, if you will ^.^)

Too much anime and related things on the homepage, but I don’t know what to post about! So… have a kpop MV :) Song’s quite new, by Super Junior (you may have heard of them)

I like the song, it’s somewhat catchy, but not as catchy or cool as Sorry Sorry:

Kpop dances are pretty cool, I want to learn some, but am sorely lacking in the coordination department :)

Get one + link me to it. Failing that, fire me stupid questions at mine:

http://www.formspring.me/dp624

It’s kinda interesting but half the times the questions are retarded, especially so since you can choose to remain anonymous while asking. I like the med-related q’s though, since it sort of makes me study ahahaha. But it’s privacy gone to the winds (though I can obv. choose not to answer questions). Ah, what we do to procrastinate/get out of studying for my exam on thurs =/

devo.

So I figured I should post something. Honestly though, lately, I haven’t had much idea of what to post. But I recently stumbled across some documents while cleaning my desk :)

I had applied for my raw marks from the Board of Studies [for the HSC etc] and received them a few weeks ago; however I didn’t really feel like posting them as it was a long time since HSC and it doesn’t really matter that much anymore. I do think Joseph [one of our non-ruse08 readers; spik3balloon] also applied. But currently I’m really stuck for what to post, so here goes :)

This is really hilarious stuff. These processors are like a piece of metal, and the fan is some plastic contraption thing. I wonder how this slip-up occured? There’s also Engrish on the box.

More here and here.
